Description:

Contingent work is an excellent fit for individuals seeking career flexibility and non-traditional work arrangements, while still being highly motivated to deliver exceptional results in dynamic, high-profile environments. In this assignment, you will be working with Coinbase through our Managed Service Provider—partnering with one of the most influential cryptocurrency companies in history, dedicated to empowering their customers’ success through innovative solutions.

We're hiring a contract HR Business Partner based in India to support our Customer Experience (CX) organization through the end of the year. In this role, you'll partner directly with CX leadership and regional APAC stakeholders to drive people programs, strengthen employee relations, and improve the employee lifecycle — all while bringing local cultural expertise and maintaining a global operations mindset. You'll sit at the intersection of day-to-day HR operations and strategic people advisory, coaching front-line managers and ensuring Coinbase's India presence runs efficiently and effectively.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the end-to-end HRBP partnership for the CX organization in India, serving as the primary point of contact for CX leadership and executing our people programs including compensation cycles, annual and midyear reviews, and engagement surveys.
  • Drive employee relations for the India employee population, acting as the first point of contact for ER issues and partnering with the global Legal/ER team to resolve matters fairly, compliantly, and with sensitivity to local context.
  • Partner with regional India and APAC leadership to strengthen local office culture and processes, bringing cultural best practices and local market knowledge while maintaining alignment with our global People operations framework.
  • Coach front-line managers on performance management, talent development, and workforce planning, helping leaders build high-performing teams through data-informed guidance, skills assessment, and ongoing feedback.
  • Lead improvements to the employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding, partnering with internal teams to identify friction points and implement streamlined, scalable processes that improve the employee experience.
  • Ensure compliance with local Indian labor laws and regulations, working closely with external vendors and internal Legal, People Operations, and policy teams to mitigate risk and keep our practices current.
  • Assisting with case work in partnership with our HRBP team in Manila to ensure continuity of practices and programs across the team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HR/People Operations experience, with demonstrated expertise partnering directly with business leaders as a trusted advisor — preferably in a shared services or multi-geography model.
  • Proven experience managing employee relations matters end-to-end, including investigations, performance management, and policy interpretation, in compliance with Indian labor law.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian employment regulations and HR best practices, with the ability to translate local requirements into scalable processes within a global organization.
  • Track record of executing people programs at scale (compensation cycles, reviews, engagement surveys) with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity, coach managers at multiple levels, and influence outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively across time zones and cultures.
  • Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human-in-the-loop practices to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.
  • This role is located in the Hyderabad office.
